Powers of NHIF Deputy Governor Prof. Mavrov Restored

All powers and control functions of Prof. Momchil Mavrov over the specialized administration at the National Health Insurance Fund (NHIF) have been restored by order of the NHIF Governor, effective November 4, 2025. This was announced by the NHIF.

The internal audit by the Inspectorate at the NHIF Central Administration regarding the work of the Medical Devices and Aids Directorate has concluded. Audits in other units within the NHIF Central Administration are ongoing.

The NHIF assures that any identified violations or omissions in the administration’s activities will be addressed promptly.

As a reminder, by an order dated October 14, the NHIF Governor, Assoc. Prof. Petko Stefanovski, temporarily suspended the powers of Deputy Governor Prof. Mavrov. The institution later announced that the decision was related to an ongoing internal audit.
