The Supervisory Board of the NHIF discusses the budget execution forecast through December
The Supervisory Board of the NHIF will review the budget execution reports for May and June. It will also examine the forecast for health insurance payments as of December 31. This is outlined in the draft agenda for the upcoming board meeting on July 31. Compensated changes between individual parameters within the budget are also expected to be proposed, along with an updated monthly distribution for 2025.
During the meeting, summarized information from the directors of the Regional Health Insurance Funds (RHIF) regarding negative values reported by hospitals for their activities in June 2025 will be discussed. The reasons for exceeding indicative values will also be addressed.
The Board will also approve the Specification for conducting the procedure to prepare a list of dietary foods for special medical purposes, which are fully or partially reimbursed by the NHIF. Representatives will be appointed to participate in negotiations with the Bulgarian Pharmaceutical Union. They will discuss the conditions for concluding individual contracts for the payment of medicinal products.
Among the items on the agenda is the approval of updated requirements for specific diagnoses from the list of diseases requiring expertise, as well as specifications for grouped medical devices used in outpatient and inpatient care.
