The only chance for treatment was an allogeneic stem cell transplant, which was performed in March. Her 4-year-old brother became the donor.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This type of transplant utilizes cells from another person\u2014most often a relative or a compatible donor from an international registry. The method is significantly more complex than autologous transplants, but it is crucial for severe and aggressive forms of the disease.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">According to Assoc. Prof. Boryana Avramova, MD, head of the clinic, both the child and the donor are in good condition, and the results confirm the successful outcome of the procedure. However, the most important stage lies ahead\u2014bone marrow recovery and careful monitoring for potential complications.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The first 100 days post-transplant are critical.
