Two cases each have been identified in the municipality of Pleven, and one each in the municipalities of Kozloduy, Lukovit, Yablanitsa, and Lovech. <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">To date, 21 of the samples have been laboratory-confirmed, while results for the rest are pending. The disease primarily affects children aged 5 months to 15 years. Two cases have also been registered in adults \u2013 a 25-year-old man from Lovech municipality and a 48-year-old woman from Pleven municipality.  <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Every case is reported and registered in the national information system for measles, mumps, and rubella morbidity. Health authorities are conducting epidemiological studies to identify contact persons and verify their immunization status, directing them for vaccination if necessary. <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In order to limit the spread of the infection, patients are hospitalized in infectious disease wards. In parallel, the search continues for children with missed immunizations, as well as those who are due for vaccination or re-vaccination during the current year. <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Ministry of Health once again urges parents to check their children&#8217;s immunization status and, in case of omissions, to contact their general practitioner. Timely immunization remains the most effective measure for preventing severe illness and limiting its spread. <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Information regarding the number of cases will be updated daily on the Ministry&#8217;s website in the &#8220;Epidemic Situation&#8221; section.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>A total of 43 cases of measles have been registered in three regions of the country, the Ministry of Health reports.
