The decision expands global vaccine supplies and strengthens international efforts to contain outbreaks caused by type 2 poliovirus, as well as to accelerate the process of final disease eradication. <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Prequalification status certifies that the vaccine meets international standards for quality, safety, and efficacy, allowing it to be purchased and distributed through UN public procurement systems, including UNICEF. This creates the conditions for its widespread application in national immunization programs and poliovirus distribution control across various countries. <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The nOPV2 vaccine is intended for active immunization across all age groups and is authorized for emergency use during outbreaks, in accordance with the requirements of the WHO and the Global Polio Eradication Initiative (GPEI).<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The product is available in 20- and 50-dose vials and has a shelf life of 24 months when stored at temperatures down to \u201320\u00b0C. Additionally, it can be stored for up to six months at temperatures between +2\u00b0C and +8\u00b0C, providing significant operational flexibility for immunization programs.
