{"id":6407,"date":"2025-05-09T07:29:23","date_gmt":"2025-05-09T07:29:23","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/healthcaremagazine.bg\/ministry-of-health-warns-health-is-not-a-game\/"},"modified":"2026-05-09T22:50:34","modified_gmt":"2026-05-09T22:50:34","slug":"ministry-of-health-warns-health-is-not-a-game","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/healthcaremagazine.bg\/en\/ministry-of-health-warns-health-is-not-a-game\/","title":{"rendered":"Ministry of Health warns: Health is not a game!"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Ministry of Health warns of a dangerous social media &#8220;challenge.&#8221; In it, children compete to hold their breath or otherwise block the flow of oxygen to the body. <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">With the aim of prevention and informing parents and children about the potential risks of such &#8220;games,&#8221; the Ministry reached out to pediatricians from the &#8220;Prof. Dr. Ivan Mitev&#8221; Specialized Hospital for Active Treatment of Children&#8217;s Diseases. <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Together, we remind you that health is not a game, and such challenges can lead to permanent consequences.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Just 2.5 minutes without oxygen can lead to irreversible brain damage. This condition is called hypoxia\u2014an insufficient supply of oxygen to cells and tissues. <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In the first few seconds, the following are observed: rapid heart rate, decreased motor activity, impaired consciousness, and heart rhythm disturbances.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">If immediate action is not taken, loss of consciousness and brain damage occur. The consequences can be permanent disability or a fatal outcome. <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Ministry of Health is adamant that social media &#8220;challenges&#8221; that put the lives and health of children at risk should not be underestimated. It is vital to stay informed about the possible consequences. <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Let&#8217;s talk to our children!
