An additional 14 cases were dismissed due to a lack of laboratory confirmation of measles infection. <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The highest number of cases has been registered in Vratsa with 174 cases, followed by Pleven with 77 cases and Lovech with 29. Cases have also been reported in Montana (7), Sofia City (5), Varna (3), and Sofia Province (1).  <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Vratsa Province continues to report the highest incidence rate at 119.18 cases per 100,000 people. In Pleven, the rate is 35.76 per 100,000, and in Lovech, it is 26.17 per 100,000. In Montana, the indicator stands at 6.21 per 100,000 people, in Sofia City at 0.39, in Varna at 0.69, and in Sofia Province at 0.45 cases per 100,000 population.  <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Children represent 84% of all patients, totaling 218 cases.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The data further indicates that 155 of the infected individuals had not been immunized against measles due to being under the required age or for other reasons. The immunization status of 24 people remains unknown, while the rest have records of being vaccinated. <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Since the beginning of the outbreak in the country, a total of 33,182 doses of the measles, mumps, and rubella (MMR) vaccine have been administered.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>A total of 296 confirmed cases of measles have been reported in Bulgaria as of May 18, according to current data from the Ministry of Health.
