The Minister of Health reported on his term at the head of the department
Transparency, accountability, and efficiency have been the primary priorities of the team at the Ministry of Health over the past nearly two months. This was stated by the caretaker Minister of Health Mikhail Okoliyski regarding the report on the department’s activities before the regular minister takes office.
По думите му в рамките на краткия мандат са били прекратени обществени поръчки, при които е липсвала достатъчна яснота и предвидимост, както и са въведени механизми за по-бърза реакция при извънредни ситуации.Among the reported measures is the launch of the program for free influenza vaccines for children up to 7 years of age.
Okoliyski pointed out that the “Maternal and Child Health” sector was among his team’s leading priorities. As part of this policy, expanded neonatal screening for rare diseases has begun, and in parallel, a national model for patronage care for young families has been adopted.
Emphasis was also placed on the conditions for specialization and professional development of young medical professionals.
Among the reported actions is the signing of contracts for the construction of 100 outpatient clinics in small and remote settlements, as well as the upgrading of the eHealth mobile application.
In the field of mental health and addictions, strategic documents have been adopted, including a new strategy for combating drugs. According to the minister, the profession of “psychotherapist” was also regulated for the first time.
At the end of the report, the ministry team thanked the administration employees, professional organizations, patient groups, and civil associations for their collaborative work.
“The results achieved are the fruit of collective efforts and represent a solid foundation upon which the next administration can continue to build for the sake of the patient,” stated Okoliyski.
