Measles cases in the country reach 99

Five new cases of measles have been registered within the last 24 hours, according to a report from the Ministry of Health. This brings the total number of cases to 99 as of April 8, 2026.

All newly registered cases involve children between the ages of 2 and 14. The patients are from the Vratsa and Lovech regions.

With these new cases, the spread of the disease remains limited to five regions in the country—Vratsa, Lovech, Pleven, Sofia City, and Sofia Province—with Vratsa remaining the most affected area.

Health authorities continue to monitor the situation, with the focus remaining on containing the spread and reaching children with missed vaccinations.
