The current Executive Director of St. Ekaterina University Hospital, Prof. Dr. Dimitar Petkov, retains his position after winning the competition for the head of the medical institution. The same applies to Assoc. Prof. Dimitar Dimitrov, who remains at the helm of the Prof. Ivan Chernozemski Specialized Hospital for Active Treatment in Oncology. This is indicated by the final results of the procedures conducted, published by the Ministry of Health.

In the competition for St. Ekaterina, Prof. Petkov competed against Georgi Naydenov and Prof. Nikolay Dimitrov. All three candidates successfully passed all stages: document verification, presentation of a development concept, and an interview. However, the final ranking placed the current director in first place.

The race for the management of the Sofia oncology hospital was also highly contested. Assoc. Prof. Dimitrov competed with Dr. Galya Kondeva, Prof. Georgi Mihaylov, and Dr. Stefan Konstantinov. Following the final stage of the procedure, he was the one ranked highest and retains his post.

In parallel, new state representatives have been appointed to the governing bodies of the medical institutions. On the board of St. Ekaterina, the state will be represented by Nadezhda Brankovska-Kirilova, and at the oncology hospital by Dr. Lucia Dobreva. In both cases, the candidates faced no competition.

The competitions for other key positions also concluded without surprises. On the Board of Directors of the N. I. Pirogov University Multi-Profile Hospital for Active Treatment and Emergency Medicine, Krasimir Yanev will serve as the state representative, while Valeri Velev has been elected as an independent board member for the management of the Sofia Infectious Disease Hospital.
