SMA Sends Five Young Doctors for Training at ICLO Verona

The Sofia Medical Association announces an opportunity for five young doctors to participate in two highly specialized courses to be held at the ICLO Verona training center (Italy) – one of Europe’s leading centers for practical medical training. Both courses are part of the new partnership between the SMA and ICLO Verona and are funded by the “Young Doctor” Fund.

The first course focuses on cardiac surgery and will take place on May 20 and 21, 2026. Its topic is related to the modern treatment of aortic root endocarditis (Mastering Commando: An Advanced Hands-on Course on Aortic Root Endocarditis), and the training includes both a theoretical part and practical sessions with leading specialists. The course will be conducted in English. Three spots are available for Bulgarian doctors.

The second course will be held from May 10–12, 2026, and is dedicated to reconstructive hand surgery, focusing on the repair of nerve and tendon injuries. The program includes intensive practical work and the refinement of surgical techniques in a controlled environment. The course will be conducted in Italian, but a translator is provided. Two spots are available for this course.
