Portfolios of Deputy Ministers of Health have been assigned

The Minister of Health, Assoc. Prof. Mikhail Okoliyski, has issued an order for the distribution of portfolios among the deputy ministers in his team, the Ministry of Health announced.

Deputy Minister Dr. Petar Gribnev, PhD, will be responsible for the Health Information Systems, Medical Activities, Public Enterprises and Property Management, and Emergency Medical Care directorates. His portfolio also includes state psychiatric hospitals, the Medical Supervision Executive Agency, the National Center for Transfusion Hematology and regional blood centers, the National Center for Training and Qualification in the Emergency Medical Care System, the National Expert Medical Commission, and emergency medical care centers. He also assumes the functions of the authority for the recognition of professional qualifications in regulated medical professions and specialties within the healthcare system.

Deputy Minister Vladimir Afenliev will be responsible for the Drug Policy and Project, Program, and Strategy Implementation directorates. He will oversee the activities of the Bulgarian Drug Agency and the National Council on Prices and Reimbursement of Medicinal Products.

Deputy Minister Prof. Antonia Dimova, PhD, will coordinate and oversee healthcare system policies in the following directorates: Budget and Finance, European Coordination and International Cooperation, and Public Health. Her portfolio includes the management and oversight of medical and social care homes for children, the National Center of Infectious and Parasitic Diseases, the National Center for Public Health and Analyses, the National Center for Radiobiology and Radiation Protection, regional health inspectorates, centers for comprehensive care for children with disabilities and chronic diseases, as well as the Center for Assisted Reproduction.
