Burgas Municipal Council Appoints Dr. Blagomir Zdravkov as Manager of the Children's Hospital
The Municipal Council in Burgas elected Dr. Blagomir Zdravkov as the manager of the St. Anastasia Children’s Hospital. His candidacy was approved by a majority at a meeting on March 17, after he won the competition with the highest score of 5.88.
Prior to the vote, Dr. Zdravkov presented his management program for the healthcare facility for the next three years. “My mission is to build a system of high-quality and safe pediatric care for the children of Burgas and the region,” he stated, emphasizing the need for cooperation with local authorities, outpatient care, and the medical community.
Among the main priorities in his concept is placing the child at the center of the system, with the active participation of the family in the treatment process. According to him, the goal is for the hospital to establish itself as a leading pediatric center for Southeast Bulgaria by attracting specialists, implementing modern technologies, and developing partnerships.
Zdravkov also extended an invitation to the other candidates in the competition to join the development of the hospital. “These are colleagues with impeccable professional reputations who can contribute to this common project,” he noted.
Following the election of the manager, the Municipal Council also voted to increase the capital of the healthcare facility by the value of the buildings and equipment. The total book value of the assets exceeds €60 million.
The St. Anastasia Children’s Hospital is entirely municipally owned and will operate in partnership with the Prof. Dr. Assen Zlatarov University in Burgas.
