Ministry of Health Assigns Emergency Mosquito Spraying to Regional Health Inspectorates

The only option for emergency mosquito treatment at this time is through the Regional Health Inspectorates. This was stated by the Minister of Health, Katya Ivkova, during a meeting with the directors of health inspectorates across the country.

According to her, the Regional Health Inspectorates play a key role in organizing emergency measures against mosquito populations and the associated risk of spreading vector-borne diseases.

“You are our ambassadors at the regional level. These are not just words. We truly value your work, and today we are turning to you once again in an emergency situation,” Ivkova pointed out.

The meeting was also attended by the Director of the Public Health Directorate at the Ministry of Health, Iliya Tasev. He emphasized that emergency actions are necessary due to the public health risk from mosquito-borne diseases.

Starting next week, regional health inspectorates must begin organizing disinsectization in areas outside urban zones. For this purpose, the Ministry of Health will provide the necessary financial resources.
