Effective Monday: Dobrich Declares Flu Epidemic
Dobrich is the second region in the country to introduce temporary anti-epidemic measures against the spread of influenza. These measures take effect on Monday, January 19, and will remain in force through January 25, according to the health authorities.
For the period of January 8–14, an increased morbidity rate of 238 per 10,000 people was established in the region, with the circulation of influenza viruses confirmed. In this regard, following a decision by the Regional Operational Headquarters for the Fight Against Influenza and Acute Respiratory Diseases, a flu epidemic will be declared in Dobrich starting Monday.
In-person classes will be suspended, along with all group and extracurricular activities, with the exception of student olympiads scheduled for January 23 and 24, which will be held in compliance with anti-epidemic measures.
During the coming week, hospital visitations in the region will be suspended, with exceptions granted only for terminally ill patients provided they wear a medical face mask. Visitations will also be prohibited in specialized social service institutions and residential-type social services for children and adults.
Preventive check-ups, as well as mandatory immunizations and re-immunizations performed by general practitioners, are also temporarily suspended.
