Minister Kirilov establishes working group for hospital food

The Minister of Health, Assoc. Prof. Silvi Kirilov, MD, PhD, has established a working group to develop and propose a regulatory act governing the requirements for organized catering in medical facilities, according to the Ministry of Health.

The objective is to introduce minimum requirements for the type and quality of hospital food, as well as fundamental organizational practices related to patient nutrition.

The working group includes experts from the Ministry of Health, the National Center of Public Health and Analyses, and specialists in nutrition and dietetics. The order specifies that the chairperson of the working group may also involve additional experts.

The deadline for preparing the proposed regulatory act is the end of April 2026.
