Minister Okoliyski Dismisses Ivanka Dineva as Director of the Executive Agency for Medical Supervision
By order of the Minister of Health, Ms. Ivanka Dineva has been dismissed from the position of Director of the Executive Agency for Medical Supervision. The current Deputy Director of the agency, Ms. Radka Nikolova, has been appointed as acting director. This was announced by the Ministry of Health.
The decision was made following an assessment of the need to upgrade capacity in key areas of the agency’s activities. Among the motives, the Ministry of Health highlights the necessity of improving coordination and efficiency in managing donor situations in the country, as well as optimizing the selection processes for suitable recipients for transplantations for Bulgarian citizens.
The change also reflects a focus on clearer mechanisms for transparency, openness, and active communication with the public and the media, the ministry further explained.
“The Ministry of Health expresses its gratitude to Ms. Ivanka Dineva for her efforts and her work during her tenure at the Executive Agency for Medical Supervision,” the Ministry of Health concluded.
Hours after being dismissed from her post, Ivanka Dineva stated on social media: “This is an entirely political decision that has nothing to do with my expertise, the work of my team, or the actual results we have achieved in recent years.”
