The Minister of Health, Assoc. Prof. Mikhail Okoliyski, has terminated the public procurement procedure via direct negotiation for the ‘Provision of Unarmed Physical Security for Facilities Owned by the Ministry of Health in Sofia and Nationwide,’ announced on February 18, 2026. This was reported by the Ministry.

The procurement includes providing 24/7 security for administrative buildings and facilities of the Ministry of Health in Sofia and across the country.

The decision to terminate was made after reviewing a received report and in view of the need to ensure full transparency and efficiency in the expenditure of public funds, the Ministry of Health specified.

Currently, the security of the Ministry’s facilities is carried out under an active contract, concluded following an open procedure under the Public Procurement Act, which remains in effect until April 2026.

They further reported that a new procedure must be announced to ensure equal participation for all interested candidates who meet the requirements, while maintaining a competitive environment.
