Nikolay Mateev to Lead Bayer Bulgaria

As of the beginning of October 2025, Nikolay Mateev has assumed the position of Managing Director of Bayer Bulgaria EOOD, the pharmaceutical company announced. He will combine this role with his current position as Head of Pharmaceuticals for the company in the country.

The previous Managing Director, Lyuba Paunova, continues her professional development within the organization, taking on the role of Head of Human Resources for the Eastern Europe region, covering 17 countries.

Mateev joined Bayer Bulgaria 13 years ago as an Oncology Product Manager. He later held the position of Head of Hospital Market, and since 2020, he has led the Marketing Department in the Pharmaceuticals division. In 2022, he became the Head of the division for Bulgaria. He holds a Master’s degree in Pharmacy from the Medical University of Sofia and a specialization in Marketing from the University of National and World Economy.
