Okoliyski Resumes the Activities of the High Council of Pharmacy

The Minister of Health, Assoc. Prof. Mikhail Okoliyski, has resumed the activities of the High Council of Pharmacy after a prolonged period of interruption, according to the Ministry of Health.

The Council is a consultative body with a key role in determining the strategic directions for the development of pharmaceutical care and the profession in Bulgaria. During the first meeting, the Minister emphasized the importance of active dialogue between institutions, experts, and the academic community.

“The High Council of Pharmacy is the place where expertise, practice, and a vision for the future meet. Our goal is to turn good ideas into real policies,” stated Assoc. Prof. Okoliyski.

During the meeting, Deputy Minister of Health Vladimir Afenliev was elected as Vice-Chairman of the Council. According to the Minister, this is a sign of the leadership’s commitment to better coordination between the state and professional organizations.

The members of the Council adopted the annual work program and began discussing key topics, including access to the profession of “Master Pharmacist” and the challenges facing the sector.

Minister Okoliyski expressed his expectation that the Council will work proactively and propose concrete solutions, emphasizing the significant role of pharmacists in the healthcare system.

“I am convinced that with joint efforts we can restore the weight and purpose of this Council,” he added.
