Parliamentary working group to discuss remuneration for young doctors
A working group will be established under the parliamentary Health Committee, as decided by committee members, BTA reported. It will discuss the salaries of young doctors. The group will include one Member of Parliament from each parliamentary group, as well as representatives from the Ministry of Health, the National Health Insurance Fund (NHIF), professional organizations, trade unions, employer organizations, and other stakeholders, including the “Future in Bulgaria” initiative committee. The working group will have one chairperson and three deputy chairpersons.
The members include Krasimir Sabev, Vasil Pandov, Margarita Mahaeva, Tsvetan Enchev, Desislav Taskov, Hasan Ademov, Andrey Chorbanov, and Aleksandar Todorov. Desislav Taskov was elected chairperson, and his deputies will be Vasil Pandov, Krasimir Sabev, and Margarita Mahaeva.
The Chairperson of the Health Committee, Prof. Kostadin Angelov, specified that official letters will be sent to designate representatives from the institutions. The deadline for proposals is 14 days, which may be extended if necessary.
On July 30, the committee approved with 20 votes in favor a consolidated bill to amend and supplement the Medical Facilities Act. It combines three bills introduced by Tsoncho Ganev and a group of MPs, Asen Vasilev and a group of MPs, as well as Kostadin Angelov, Ivan Ibrishimov, and Andrey Chorbanov. The amendments primarily concern the remuneration of doctors and medical residents, the performance and payment of night shifts, and other matters.
