Prof. Ilko Getov to Head the National Council on Prices and Reimbursement of Medicinal Products

By decision of the Council of Ministers, the composition of the National Council on Prices and Reimbursement of Medicinal Products has been changed, with Prof. Ilko Getov appointed as Chairman. He replaces Assoc. Prof. Silvia Terezova, according to an announcement from the Ministry of Health.

Prof. Getov is an expert with extensive experience in pharmacy, healthcare management, and drug policy. He graduated from the Medical University of Sofia and holds a PhD and specializations in clinical and hospital pharmacy. During his professional career, he has served as President of the Bulgarian Pharmaceutical Union and Deputy Minister of Health. Since 2020, he has represented Bulgaria on the Committee for Medicinal Products for Human Use at the European Medicines Agency.

The same decision appoints Aksiniya Atanasova to the Council, replacing Assoc. Prof. Lyubomir Bakalivanov. She holds a Master’s degree in Insurance and Social Affairs, with specializations in healthcare and financial management, and possesses long-standing experience in the health insurance system and the Drug Policy Directorate of the Ministry of Health.
