The government approved state budget transfers for the NHIF and the SSC

By government decision, funding of up to 260 million euros was approved for personnel costs, social payments, and state budget transfers for January 2026, the government press office announced.

The funds will be provided from balances remaining from the previous year and will cover funding for the State Social Security budget, the National Health Insurance Fund, as well as the European Union funds account of the National Fund.

The Cabinet states that this approach ensures the implementation of regulated increases in expenditures and transfers, as well as the normal functioning of ministries and state institutions. Expenditures will be carried out in accordance with the amendments to the current regulations that have entered into force.

The funding is carried out on the basis of Art. 3, para. 3 of the Act on Revenue Collection and Expenditure in 2026 and will continue until the adoption of the State Budget Act of the Republic of Bulgaria for 2026, as well as the budgets of the State Social Security and the National Health Insurance Fund for the same year.
