The NHIF and the Council on Prices and Reimbursement of Medicines Systems Are Now Integrated

At the initiative of the Ministry of Health, the systems of the National Health Insurance Fund (NHIF) and the National Council on Prices and Reimbursement of Medicinal Products (NCPRMP) are now linked and will exchange data in real time, according to a statement from the Ministry of Health.

The Ministry added that the systems are expected to begin synchronized operation as of April 1, 2026, and any change in the Positive Drug List will be automatically reflected in the NHIF information systems.

“This will improve the control over the prescription and dispensing of medicinal products, optimize the work of the specialized administration at the Fund, and prevent technical errors or inaccuracies in the work of NHIF’s contracting partners who use centralized drug nomenclatures,” the Ministry of Health explained.

Until now, Health Insurance Fund employees have manually compared changes in drug lists against previous periods. With the new functionality, this process will be automated, significantly reducing the risk of errors and inaccuracies, the Ministry added.

Furthermore, the integration between the two systems will allow for faster and more accurate updates and will ensure unimpeded patient access to new medicinal products.
